Yara is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is passionate about creating a trusting and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes and regain control of their lives. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston and earned her master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from Pacific University. During her graduate training, Yara completed her internship under the supervision of Kevin Ashworth, LPC, at NW Anxiety Institute.

Yara has training in evidence-based treatment approaches and specializes in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for individuals experiencing OCD and anxiety-related disorders. She takes a compassionate, collaborative approach to treatment, helping clients build the confidence needed to face their fears and move toward the life they value.

Yara also has experience facilitating both support and evidence-based treatment groups for adolescents with OCD and anxiety-related disorders. She enjoys creating engaging group environments that help clients feel understood while building practical skills for managing OCD and anxiety.

Prior to specializing in OCD and anxiety, Yara worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), providing behavioral interventions to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This experience deepened her interest in supporting individuals with ASD and co-occurring conditions, including OCD and anxiety, and continues to inform her compassionate approach to care.
