Gabriela is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the owner of OCD and Anxiety of The Woodlands, PLLC. Her goal is to offer accessible and evidence-based treatment options, empowering her clients to break free from the cycles of intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and avoidance behaviors that often worsen their distress.
Gabriela is committed to raising awareness about OCD and anxiety disorders within the community. Through educational workshops, support groups, and collaborations with local organizations, she works to destigmatize these conditions and provide resources for those seeking help. In addition to her clinical work, Gabriela offers consultation groups for early-career therapists and clinicians seeking guidance in the treatment of OCD and the differential diagnosis of anxiety disorders. These small-group consultation sessions provide structured support, case conceptualization, and practical feedback grounded in evidence-based and neuroaffirming approaches.
Gabriela earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston, specializing in clinical practice. Before becoming a clinician, she spent 10 years researching, writing policy for the Department of Homeland Security, and serving as a program manager in the Department of Defenses Chemical Biological Defense Program. In addition to her MSW, she holds a Master’s degree in International Studies. Gabriela has undergone extensive training in OCD through expert-led programs, including the OCD Training School, the Anxiety Training Center, and advanced training with the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) through the International OCD Foundation. She continues to participate in regular OCD-specific consultation to maintain her expertise and stay current with the latest clinical practices. Gabriela is also an active member of the International OCD Foundation.
