Yara is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who values creating a safe and trusting environment that allows clients to regain control of their lives. Yara received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston before earning her master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from Pacific University. She completed her graduate internship under the supervision of Kevin Ashworth, LPC, at NW Anxiety Institute. She has training in evidence-based practices and experience providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to clients with OCD and anxiety-related disorders. She supports clients in implementing change in their lives with a compassionate and supportive approach. Yara is supervised by Saharah Shrout, LPC-S.
Yara also has experience working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), implementing behavioral interventions with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Her experience in the field has fueled her drive to support clients with ASD and co-existing disorders, including OCD and anxiety.
